Why this site is an almanac

notes from the logbook

“clarity 2/5. hazy, but i'm writing it down anyway.”

An almanac is a strange kind of book. It mixes the serious with the useless: tide tables next to jokes, the phases of the moon next to predictions nobody asked for. That felt like the right shape for a personal site.

So every part of this one is a chapter. The career is an orrery, because a career goes round in circles. The blog is a logbook, because most ideas start out hazy. The guestbook is the sky itself: every visitor leaves a star, and the sky on the front page is made of them.

Getting around

Pick a chapter and the telescope swings to its constellation. The readout in the corner shows where it's pointing. The star wheel in the top bar has every chapter on it; turn it until the one you want is in the window.

This is a sample entry, here to show how the logbook works. The real ones come later.
